Home Sweet Home

Here's a card I did for a swap not too long ago.

The Just Buzzin' By stamp set is one of my favorites. It can be used any occasion. The little bees are so cute.

Just Buzzin' by scene

Today another one of my cards was published on Stamper's Showcase, a great resource provided by Stampin' Up!

In this card I used the Just Buzzin' By stamp set.

I absolutely LOvE this set. It is so much fun to play with.

I created these crisp images by stamping them several times and cutting out each layer.

For each bee, I stamped on Whisper White, Summer Sun and Blush Blossom card stock,  cutting out each then layered them appropriately. To finish off each bee I used two way glue and Dazzling Diamond glitter on the wings and a Basic Black Stampin' marker to accent the arms and the little balls on the end of the antenna.

The flower was stamped on Whisper White and Pretty in Pink card stock,  and Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper. Cut and assembled. Finishing off with Old Olive and Summer Sun Stampin' markers.

For the back ground,  I stamped the flower repetitively in Versa Mark and added a Raspberry Tart Designer Series paper strip at the bottom.

The beehive is only stamped twice, on Close to Cocoa and Whisper White card stock. Cut and attach, then I added a little detail with the Uni-ball Signo gel pen, on the side. Attached it with Stampin' Dimensionals

Trendy trees

Here is a masculine card made using the Trendy Trees stamp set
With this card I chose to use the Juntos Designer Series Paper and some coordinating colors, Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke in both ink and card stock.

My dear & Kind wonderful Friend

To create my next card I tried to step out of my typical color choices.

So I opened up my Stampin' Up! Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog to the Designer Series Papers (DSP) starting on page 158. Instead of looking at the DSP I was looking at the coordinating colors below each group.

Looking  at Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP, I decided I found the color group I was looking for.
Ruby Red, Baja Breeze, So Saffron(DSP), Sahara Sand and I used Chocolate Chip, it tends to be a great color to go along with many.

With the aid of my Big Shot I created this card rather quickly.

Cutting a piece of Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla card stock with the Top Note Die Cut at the same time. You can actually cut 4 pieces at once with this die. It is one of my favorites.

I then used a pair of Paper Snips to trim down the vanilla top note.

Stamping the My dear,Kind & Wonderful Friend from the All Holidays stamp set in Sahara Sand Classic Ink repetitively until the entire vanilla top note is covered. I cleaned my stamp then stamped it in Ruby Red Classic Ink.

Using the Big Shot and the Stampin' Up! Butterflies die cut I quickly cut out a butterfly from So Saffron DSP. Added  some 1/4" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain ribbon then attached the Butterfly to the card with some Stampin' Dimensionals so that the butterfly looks like it is resting on the page.

Thinking Of You

I absolutely LOvE this set. Thank you to my Friend Michelle for buying me this Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set. I will treasure it always.
At a shoe box swap I recently attended I picked up this quick coloring technique, thanks Lisa. I created this image by daubering on some Mellow Moss Classic Ink onto the leaves. Then I took a Chocolate Chip Stampin' Marker and brushed the trunk of the tree up to the bottom of the leaves with the paintbrush looking end. What a SIMPLE great effect. A truly BeauTiFul stamp set, a must own!

Know Life

The other day my friend Faith showed several of us a cool technique using daubers, Pocket Silhouette stamp set and classic ink pads on a beautiful card.

I took her technique and made this masterpiece. It is so simple anyone can do it.Start with piece of Confetti white card stock.

Ink up your grassy plant stamp from Pocket Silhouette with Kiwi Kiss classic ink pad stamping along the horizon of the paper. Re-ink every 2 or 3 impressions, this will give you different shades of this plant. It works best to have some taller than the others, a more realistic look.

Then you will ink up your dauber with the Kiwi Kiss ink rubbing along the plants about 1/3 from the tops all the way to the bottom of the paper.

Then come back with another dauber inked with Close to Cocoa classic ink pad rubbing along the bottom and blend upwards. try not to go more than halfway into the Kiwi area.

Finish your landscape up with Baja Breeze classic ink pad and another dauber. Start rubbing at the top in a circular motion. You don't have to cover every spot, the remaining white will look like clouds. In some spots I rubbed on more ink to give darker spots.

Have fun making your masterpiece.

I just absolutely LOVE this humming bird.I stamped the flower in 2 colors then cut the lighter one around the smaller petals. And of course I had to add some glitter.

This week I am in New York visiting my family. Tonight I have a workshop. Here is a sneak peak into one of the cards we will make.
